Misinformation

Disinformation

“when false information is knowingly shared to cause harm”.

Disinformation can often be traced back to actors with malicious motives and can be part of concerted large-scale campaigns.

Malinformation

“when genuine information is shared to cause harm, often by moving what was designed to stay private into the public sphere”
